Kyle Going Home Its
great news that Kyle Eade has been discharged from Burwood Hospital,
Christchurch, and is heading home to Florida on 13th July.
Kyle suffered serious spinal injuries during a jump set back in
February 2010. Since then he has been hospitalised and has been
under treatment in the Burwood Hospital Spinal Unit.
While he still has some way to go, the news of Kyle getting some
sort of normality back into his life is absolutely terrific. We
wish him all the very best in the continuation of his recovery in
the months ahead.
Kyle is New Zealand's top all round skier and has represented our
country over a great many years. His vital statistics are:
Best
Jump: 69.9 metres
Best Slalom: 4.5 buoys on 10.25 metre line
Best Trick Score: 8460
World ranked at No 4
2nd
2009 Moomba Masters
3rd 2008 US Masters
Former Xtreme World Cup Jump Champion
New Zealand Open Men Jump & Overall Record Holder
15 time New Zealand Open Champion
2 time Asian-Australasian Overall Champ
2 time US National Collegiate Overall Champion
An
auction held after the Northbrook Lemonsqueezer round raised $1,348
which went towards Kyles recovery fund. Bidding was enthusiastic
and generous. Pic shows Gavin Thompson (right) and Carl Franklin

Canterbury
Slalom The 2010 Canterbury Slalom was
held at Lake Crichton on 27th February. Ron Bakker, pictured here,
made the trip down from Wanganui to keep the locals honest, looking
very spectacular in the process.
Welcome Welcome
to this skishotz up-date (June 2010).
It's taken a lot longer than we would have liked to get this edition
posted so please accept our apologies if you have been waiting to
see the pics taken at the 2010 tournaments.
In the last few months we have shifted to be closer to the tournament
site at Lake Hood and have had our noses to the grind stone with
the normal, and some abnormal pressures of business. No excuses
though - we have been too long getting this task completed and we
apologise for that.
We trust you are enduring the winter months so far - it wont be
too long before we are back on the water again.
In the interests of getting this to you without any further delay
we haven't included the usual pictorials from Aquafest or the Canterbury
Slalom. However, because the Northbrook final of the Lemonsqueezer
Series was a first we have used the limited time available to include
a pictorial for that event. Links to the new stuff are:

Aquatics held the annual Aquafest tournament at Lake Hood on 6th February.

Successful Body Glove Lemonsqueezer Series Concludes at Northbrook
Waters The
popular Body
Glove sponsored Lemonsqueezer Slalom Series concluded at Northbrook
Waters on 13th March. We congratulate organisers, Andrew James and
his team on making the series the success that it was. Each of the
four rounds at Lakes Hood, Harwood, Crichton and Northbrook Waters
were well supported with entries and in the main great weather conditions.
Lets hope the series is a runner next season. Overall winner was
Andrew James with Ross McKay taking the handicap honours and Andy
Gibson the Mulligan section. Thomas Queen took the award for the
most improved skier.

Lake
Crichton Developments The
Wright family, owner/operators of Lake Crichton have been busy building
a new lake and new residence at their world famous ski site.

East bank of the main lake towards the southern end of the lake.

Northbrook
Waters a Winner While
we have kept an eye on Northbrook Waters at times during its development,
the Lemonsqueezer final there in March gave us the opportunity to
see how
it would handle a tournament. It is a fantastic setting with great
water, luxury housing and superb clubrooms and bar facilities. Northbrook
Waters is situated on the outskirts of Rangiora about 20 minutes
North East of Christchurch.
